When to ask for a flatbed

• All-wheel drive and 4x4 — dragging driven wheels can destroy a transfer case. All four wheels come off the ground.
• Electric vehicles — Teslas, Mustang Mach-Es, Ioniqs and the rest go on the bed, in transport mode where the vehicle supports it.
• Accident damage — bent suspension, missing wheels or leaking fluids belong on a bed, not rolling behind a truck.
• Lowered and exotic cars — long approach ramps and wood blocks keep the front lip intact.
• Motorcycles — soft straps and a front chock, never a strap over the bars alone.

When a wheel-lift is the better call

Some Baltimore jobs simply cannot be done with a flatbed. A wheel-lift slides under a car in a packed alley off Fells Point, hooks a vehicle three levels down in a garage with a seven-foot ceiling, or pulls a car out of a spot with three feet of clearance on each side. Same care, smaller footprint.

If a crash has happened, take care of people first and call 911. When it's time to move the vehicle, we can meet the officer on scene, load damaged vehicles that don't roll, and sweep up what's in the travel lane. We'll also work with your insurance adjuster on where the car needs to go.
